Enhanced armed guard (1 Year)

Established by the Tennessee General Assembly (Public Acts Chapter 344), the Enhanced Armed Guard registration is a specialized certification for security officers authorized to carry rifles or shotguns. The comprehensive 16-hour curriculum goes beyond standard pistol training, focusing on the legalities and tactics of long-gun deployment in offensive and defensive postures. Key modules include advanced marksmanship, safe weapon handling, and strict protocols for the secure storage of rifles and shotguns when they are not actively deployed. This training is designed for elite security roles that demand a higher level of threat response and preparedness. Upon successful completion of the written and practical examinations, eligible guards receive a registration enhancement that must be renewed annually through a mandatory 8-hour requalification course.
