About this training
The American Red Cross Babysitter's Training course is a comprehensive, youth-centered program that prepares tweens and teens for real-life caregiving scenarios. Through engaging videos, interactive group activities, and hands-on practice, students gain the confidence needed to handle everything from bedtime routines to emergency situations. Key modules include "The Business of Babysitting," where students learn to market their services and interview with families, and "Child Behavior," which teaches positive discipline and age-appropriate play. Practical skills like picking up and holding infants, bottle-feeding, and diaper changing are practiced using professional manikins. Additionally, the course teaches critical safety skills, including how to recognize hazards, prevent injuries, and respond to common first aid emergencies like choking or minor wounds. This class is the gold standard for young people looking to start their first job with a competitive, safety-focused edge.
